Spring coats with matching dresses were worn at Kate’s wedding. And of course the hats!

For her daughter’s wedding, Carole Middleton chose one of the late Princess Diana’s favorite designers Catherine Walker & Co. Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey escorted by her son James wearing a pearly blue wool crepe coat dress. The ensemble has matching satin piping and braiding at the waist and on the cuffs. It was worn over a sky blue silk shantung day dress. And her accessory is a hat by Berkshire milliner Jane Corbett.

For the royal wedding Queen Elizabeth II chose an Angela Kelly canary yellow single crepe wool primrose dress. With hand-sewn beading at the neck in the shape of sunrays. Kelly is the Queen’s personal assistant and senior dresser. She made a crepe topper with handmade silk roses and matching apricot-colored leaves.

Pinned to her matching double crepe wool tailored primrose coat was Queen Mary’s True Lovers Knot diamond brooch. Her accessories were white gloves, pearl necklace and a white handbag.

The Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles wore an outfit by Anna Valentine. And she was also the designer Bowles chose for her own wedding to Prince Charles in 2005.

Camilla is wearing a champagne silk dress with a hand-embroidered duck-egg blue and champagne coat. Her neutral shoes are by Jimmy Choo. And her clutch is by Valentine. Her hat is a creation by milliner Philip Treacy who was the designer for nearly 40 hats for the wedding.

Keep in mind that it is your daughter’s wedding.

Traditionally as a mother you are use to be the orchestra leader of this magnificent symphony. But today you might just be a member of the audience.

Still depending upon the relationship and understanding of your daughter’s wedding it is your duty to assist in the planning and budgeting. And to be there especially when chaos is breaking loose to keep things calm.
