If you are looking for an unique destination wedding, there is a beautiful venue that is available for weddings.

In 2013, the historic Musgrove Plantation open their doors to the public for weddings. The Plantation sits on the banks of the Village Creek on Saint Simons Island in Georgia. It is where the romantic ambiance that some feel only on the southern coast of Georgia.

The plantation is an outside facility. The wedding ceremonies and receptions are held outside or under a tent. And the bride has her room at the Grove House. And the groom has the Boat House by the water.

Rehearsal dinners usually take place in the Oyster Pit on the grounds.

Most of the wedding ceremonies are on the banks of Village Creek. The receptions are held in transformed tents on the tennis court overlooking the water.

The venue works with different wedding planners in the area. And they can provide the services for your wedding, such as catering, photography, flowers and more. Also, a list of hotels in the area for you and your wedding guests.

The 1,200-acre Musgrove estate owner is the late Nancy Reynolds. She was the daughter of the tobacco titan RJ Reynold. The place was built in 1938, and is like something in the movies. The lanes are lined with pecan and oak trees with Spanish moss dangling. And the gardens and mazes are perfect places for your wedding pictures.

When Reynolds bought the land, she built six separate houses for her family and guests. The Grove House is the largest building on the grounds. And it is the two-storied recreation room that is used by the brides.

The plantation was name after Mary Musgrove. She was an half Creek Indian and known as the Pocahontas of the South. In her day, she was the cultural liaison between colonial Georgia and her Native American community.
