On March 22, 2013 designer Stephan Caras put on a bold bridal collection at Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week F/W. Fashionistas, buyers and media came together to embrace and marvel at Caras’ Black Nights Winter Whites collection.

What sets Stephan Caras designs apart is that he is not influenced by current trends. He heavily relies on his imagination for each piece. And uses his creativity to truly capture women’s sensuality.

When asked what his inspiration behind this particular bold bridal collection was Caras responded with “For all my collections inspiration comes from the femininity that women exude. I respect and admire this quality. My objective is always the same. How to translate and materialize this femininity into something that any woman can wear and look her best. I never predetermine the look or the shape of my collection.”

Caras describes the bride wearing his collection to be timeless.

The designer believes that a woman will naturally exude her femininity if she wears something that she looks good in. And she feels comfortable wearing it.

For those brides who wish to achieve the runway inspired look on a budget. Caras offers some great advice without having to pay the runway price. He states, “Femininity can be expressed in many different ways, which is why women do not necessarily have to follow trends or designs from a runway inspired collection.”

“Women need to wear what expresses their character the best. And what is compatible with their personality and color complexity. Her skin, hair and eye colors. A well-balanced representation is the feminine key to me. This is why a bride on a tight budget can still afford the look she is trying to achieve.”

Although all the pieces from the Black Nights Winter Whites collection are stunning every designer has a favorite piece. Caras described his was the finale piece. The gown is an Italian ivory lace halter top with a massive ivory tulle skirt.”

“I like it because of the simplicity of the body. The  feather like shirt was engineered in an intricate way without creating heaviness. I wanted the volume but not the weight. I achieved this by cutting the fabric in a certain way. By doing this I was able to create a feminine and sensual piece with the element of drama. I always love to infuse it in my creations.”
