Shopping the world for gifts at airline airports.  
Getting those last minute gifts can be a bit of a scramble.   The days of only buying cigarettes, liquor and chocolate at airline airports are a thing of the past.   With many airports now boasting the top retail stores, you would find in your favorite mall.

Just a quick note of advice.  If you are connecting flights be sure to check the airline airports security regulations on your duty-free purchases.

1.  London Heathrow Airport.   Boasts 48,000 square meters of retail space over its five terminals.   And the gift item prices range from pocket money to premium.

  You will find perfumes, beauty products, alcohol and chocolates in all its terminals.   And if you want designer gear Terminal 3 is where you will find brands. Such as Armani, Dior, Gucci, and Cartier.   Terminal 5 showcases the best of British to departing passengers.   Mulberry, Paul Smith, Links to London and Smythson fly the flag for British design craftsmanship.

2. Dubai International Airport. The Dubai International has been the world’s leading duty-free retailer based on total sales. Alcohol, perfumes and gold are the must-buys in the Sheikh Rashid Terminal. The Concourse is where the majority of the shops are open 24/7.

3.  Incheon International Airport. South Korea’s main international gateway in Seoul is the third-largest for duty-free shopping after Dubai and Heathrow. Its popular items are perfumes, cosmetics, alcohol and cigarettes. And a first for the Shilla Duty Free Shop is Louis Vuitton. The luxury brand picked it as the world’s first LV airport shop.

4.  The O.R. Tambo International Airport. Voted the Best in Africa and winning plaudits for its airport shopping, Johannesburg has more than 100 shops. They sell everything from trinkets to high-end luxury leather goods. It is not the cheapest airport in the world but boasts discounts of 40 percent on downtown prices.

5.  The Vancouver International Airport. Canada’s western hub allows visitors to stock up on all things Canadian. From books to jewelry to toys and postcards. You can pick up the souvenirs before departing The Great White North, or shop at up-scale boutiques like Brooks Brothers and Hermes.

Rounding out the list of favorite airline airports for shopping are Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Hong Kong International Airport. As well as Miami International Airport. Frankfurt Airport and Zurich Airport.
