Couple Win $50,000 valued Wedding

Outdoor wedding ceremony on south lawn
 
TORRANCE, CA - With the average cost of U.S. weddings in 2010 estimated to have increased 21.9%, couples in California had an opportunity to enter the "Ultimate Wedding Experience" contest in October hosted by the Torrance Marriott South Bay and sponsored by Marriott International.
 
Grand Prize
The grand prize $50,000 valued wedding at the Torrance Marriott South Bay, hotel entrance pictured left, on October 1, 2011 for 120 people includes: an outdoor wedding ceremony on the hotel's south lawn fitted with a white gazebo and foliage, a reception in the outdoor Zen garden complete with fire pits followed by a dinner dance in the Ballroom Terrace; a wedding night stay in the Presidential Suite of the hotel; as well as the services of a wedding co-ordinator, photographer, flowers, videographer, and more.

The winners are, Renee and Jason, a couple from the Torrance area. Contest rules stated that couples had to be legal residents of California; 21 years of age or older as of January 9, 2011; engaged to be lawfully married to the other member of the couple at the time of entry; and ready, willing, and able to be lawfully married on October 1, 2011.

Couples were invited to submit a short essay of 1,000 words, as well as a video that addressed the following three questions:
1. How did you get engaged?
2. What would winning mean to you?
3. What, if any, ties do you have to the Torrance/South Bay area?
