| TRAVEL The Bath Club Miami Beach
Miami Beach, Florida
Governor’s Loggia cocktail lounge
1920s private social club available for beach weddings
by Shelley Waugh
The Bath Club, founded in 1926, with its time-honored traditions is becoming a sought-after destination for private parties and beachfront weddings. Designed by famed 1920s architect John Volk, it is also the only Miami Beach location that holds an ongoing permit to host semiprivate oceanfront affairs, making it a popular spot for beach nuptials on its white-powdered stretch of Miami Beach.
The wedding consultant at the club will custom design menu packages starting at $150 per person, which includes the champagne toast, hors d’ oeuvres, appetizer, choice of two main courses, dessert, wedding cake, premium open bar for four-five hours, and red or white house wine poured throughout dinner.
Also available for additional costs are floral decor, photography, club closure, ceremony set up, deluxe open bar, various stations for the cocktail hour, party boat, spa treatments for the entire wedding party, weight loss programs and stress relief programs for the bride.
The club's entrance is a sprawling open-air terrace with brick pavers, torches and seating clusters comfortably available to 150 guests. Their event rooms include the Grand Ballroom, that can accommodate up to 280 guests, the Historic Ballroom showcasing a restored ceiling and terrazzo dance floor for parties of 200, the Governor’s Loggia cocktail lounge, pictured left and above, with original wrought-iron railings and light fixtures, that can accommodate up to 60 guests, Katrina’s Restaurant, winner of the Wine Spectator Grand Award, that has seating for 50 and offers a rooftop terrace for private parties, and the Wine Cellar that features a dramatic fireplace and the most private room within the Club for up to 30 guests.
