Top blues singers and bands at Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle Festival. A fun event to put on your go-to-list for your wedding guests.
PORT CREDIT, ON. The 3-day outdoor, music-and-food celebration, is held in the Mississauga lakeside community of Port Credit’s Memorial Park.
At the 18th annual event you will see new and established Canadian and International Blues musicians performing on four main stages.
The acts include the legendary Downchild Blues Band. The inspiration for Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi’s film, The Blues Brothers. They recorded Downchild’s Shotgun Blues and Walsh’s (I Got Everything I Need) Almost. The latter shortlisted as one of Canada’s Essential Songs in a Toronto Star 2007 survey.
Downchild is revered by blues fans around the world. Tom Lavin and the Legendary Powder Blues to name a few. Lavin and the Powder Blues will also be performing at the Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle.
Donnie Walsh and his band mates have won countless music industry awards, including a JUNO for “Best Roots and Traditional Album” in 1991. They also received a JUNO Award nomination in 2005 for “Blues Album of The Year” for their album Come On In. In 2007 Downchild was named “Entertainer of The Year” at the annual Maple Blues Awards. It is the Canadian equivalent of a W.C. Handy Award.
In addition to the great music, you can enjoy ice-cold beer and wine in the fully licensed park. A wide range of tasty fare in the Southside Food Court. And a variety of arts and crafts, clothing, and jewellery by local artisans in the Vendor Village.

On Saturday afternoon, 20 bands will be performing in the free Rabba Street Shuffle. You can watch them on steps, patios and sidewalks along Lakeshore Road.
The paid admission area of the park features non-stop entertainment on stages. The area also includes the Mill Street Beer Gardens and the Bourbon Street VIP tents.
