Joyce Barslow, pictured left, has been working in communications, fashion and entertainment productions for over 30 years.

In 1992 she became editor-in-chief/publisher when she founded Weddings & Honeymoons (W&H) Magazine.

In 1999 she launched www.WeddingsHoneymoons.com, Canada's first content wedding website.

In 1999, she became an author when she wrote Coles Notes - Your Guide to Weddings (Chapters),

Under the WHNetwork Media Group umbrella, digital magazines also include: GROOM, Gifts for Weddings, Wines for Weddings, Cakes & Catering, Destination Weddings, Caribbean Weddings, Romantic Getaways, and the Newlyweds.

Miss Barslow produced the Easy Entertaining seminars at Toronto Wine & Cheese Show (2000-2004). She also created the Romance Travel Show & Expo held during the International Christmas Gift Show at the International Centre in Mississauga, and the Holiday & Holidays fashion shows that featured a Weddings of the World Collection scene of international bridal dresses, customs and traditions.

Her background in communications includes publicity, public relations, promotion, advertising, social marketing, event and strategic planning, and publishing. She originates and produces special attractions, fundraising events, radio and television shows, commercials and videos.

She is also a director, writer, innovator, consultant, coordinator, and fashion and set designer.

Miss Barslow moved to Toronto from New York City in 1962, where she had graduated from the Mayer School of Fashion Design. She worked as a fashion designer for manufacturers, as well as she set up her own children's wear manufacturing company until 1966.

From 1966 to 1970, Miss Barslow was public relations and promotion director for Bad Boy Appliance Furniture Ltd. She also functioned as publicist for Mel Lastman, then the president of Bad Boy. She originated and executed Lastman's publicity that included getting him "arrested" in NYC and Rome, and crashing the Merv Griffin TV Show in NYC with a "Bad Boy Bunny." In 1966, she initiated the sponsorship of Bad Boy for the first CHIN Picnic, which she kept as a client for 29 years.

While on staff at Bad Boy's, Miss Barslow co-ordinated Mel Lastman's first Controller campaign for the City of North York, that got him into politics. He then went onto become the first Mega Mayor of the amalgamation of Toronto in 1998.

In 1971, Miss Barslow formed her own communications, special events, production and marketing firm, Barslow International Limited. Her clients range from the opening of Mary Kay Cosmetics in Canada, Miss Canada Pageants (CTV), The Hospital for Sick Kids Telethons (CTV) to the "model and the tiger" photo that received international media coverage including People magazine and the National Enquirer for one of the several consumer shows she handled.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Miss Barslow moved to Barre, Vermont, when she was twelve-years-old with her parents and two brothers. She has dual citizenship (U.S. & Canada). (Her mother was born in Church Point, Nova Scotia). She resides in Toronto. Ms. Barslow has one son, Anthony Verombeck, who was born at Ford Ord, Ca.
