TRAVEL WITH SLIDES

Travel photographer, writer, speaker and former television host Irwin Patterson has visited 67 countries.

Mr. Patterson has created 69 two hour travelogue slide shows that are enjoyed by many audiences in Toronto District School Board Continuing Education programs in the evenings and in libraries, community centres and many seniors’ citizen residences throughout the year.

Mr. Patterson tries to illustrate what a city and country looks like, showing the people, architecture, history, scenery, museums, art galleries, factories and tourist attractions.

Mr. Patterson considers India the most interesting country he has visited. His description of the Taj Mahal and the reasons for its architectural beauty are well explained in words and slides, followed by a tour of Iran, to illustrate where the Taj Mahal's Persian architecture came from.

His favorite country is Australia and the beautiful outback.

During a rainy day, Mr. Patterson photographed Ayers Rock and the many waterfalls tumbling over the side of the sandstone monolith.

Many other countries are featured in the 4OO slide two hour travelogues including Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Holland, Norway, ancient France, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Romania, Slovenia, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Bermuda.

Eastern and Western Canada, the U.S. West Coast, the New England States and four cruises are all part of the 69 programs audiences are enjoying.

Travel, security and photography tips are included in the slide shows, including how to carry money and get around travellers cheque service charges.

World Geography Through Travel can be enjoyed at Northern Secondary School in Toronto, Monday evenings with guest speakers and shows by Mr. Patterson.

Mr. Patterson is also a travel writer with Weddings & Honeymoons newspaper and writes crime prevention tips for newsletters.

Mr. Patterson hosted and produces a travelogue television series for twelve years on his local cable station and another series called "ISSUES" where he learned crime prevention tips from the police that he shares in his slide shows and in news letters.
