The Bride's Wedding Party
Traditionally gifts are presented by the Bride at the Bride's Luncheon or by the Bride and Groom at the Rehearsal Dinner.
by Evelyn Pothier
Part of the wedding tradition is giving and receiving. When it's time to give gifts to members of the Bride's wedding party, she does it with care for each individual who has come helped her plan her special day.
The gifts may be large or small, whatever the Bride feels is appropriate and can afford, but all should be of roughly the same monetary value. The Maid of Honour may receive a different gift from the bridesmaids. The gifts should be something lasting, memorable or sentimental that will reflect how the bride feels and the importance of the occasion. Gift ideas are something that can be engraved such as jewellery or a picture frame with the couple's wedding date or anything that can be monogrammed with their initials or inscribed with a message.
The gifts are usually wrapped in the chosen wedding colours, each with an enclosure card with a personal message just for her.
If the Bride is planning to give a Bridesmaid's Luncheon to thank all the attendants it is a good time to give them their gifts. If the Bride- and Groom-to-be wish to present their gifts together, then the rehearsal dinner is one of the best times to do this. Don't forget the flower girls or ring bearers.
