Kate's wears green for Irish Guards' event

March 17, 2012, Aldershot, England

On St. Patrick's Day, The Duchess of Cambridge attended her first solo military engagement in Aldershot for the Irish Guards' parade and to present shamrocks to the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

Kate wore a green coat dress by New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead, and she accessorized her coat dress with chocolate brown suede heels and a matching 'Betty Boop' hat by designer James Lock.

She topped off her look with a black belt, tumbling curls, a frothy shamrock, and amethyst and diamond earrings by Kiki McDonough.

The gold shamrock brooch she is wearing on her coat dress is actually owned by the Guards, and loaned out by them, having previously been worn by the Queen Mother and Princess Anne, as well as Kate herself on Armed Forces Day last summer.
Green is a good accent choice as it is eternal in nature

There are several shades of green -

Turquoise, Jewel Tones, Aquamarine, Olive, Teal, Jade and Hunter green to name a few that make lovely wedding gowns, trim on white gowns,  bridesmaid dresses, reception dresses or for informal celebrations.
