Changing into a Second Dress

If it's a traditional wedding the bride's reception dress is usually a beautiful white party  creation.

Kim Kardashian had Vera Wang create three gowns for her to choose from when she walked down the aisle on August 20th to marry Kris Humphries.

People.com
reported that up until two days before the wedding Kardashian could not decide which one to wear. She made her grand entrance in what she calls the “princess look” gown, above, a ball gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on bodice and train. Along with her Lorraine Schwartz headpiece, she wore a cathedral-length veil with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué at the hem and a lightly shirred blusher layer.

For the first dance, Kardashian changed into a Georgette mermaid dress, right, with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on bodice. The skirt had hand-cut organza petals intermixed with Chantilly lace motifs and organza sprig embroidery.

And when it was time to party, Kardashian made her third and final change of the evening into a bias-cut crepe-back satin gown, left, with v-neck and circle skirt. She accessorized all three looks with custom Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Catherine's white reception dress
During the Royal Wedding on April 29th, Catherine Middleton's wore a regal Alexander McQueen wedding gown and her second dress of the day – also a McQueen creation – was definitely meant for a party.

After a long day that started with hair and makeup at 6:30 a.m., wound into the hour-long ceremony and procession, featured two very public kisses and culminated with a Buckingham Palace reception for 650 hosted by the Queen, Kate found time to change before heading off to the second post-wedding bash of the day.

Following a brief rest at Prince Charles's home, Kate slipped into another dress designed by McQueen creative director Sarah Burton: a white satin strapless evening gown with a circle skirt and diamante detailing around the waist. She topped the look with a simple white shrug, warming her up in the breezy 60-degree weather.

The Duke of Cambridge changed as well from his scarlet colonel uniform into a black tuxedo. Prince Charles, his wife Camilla Parker Bowles and Kate's sister Pippa all changed into colorful new outfits, too.
