Fashions for Passions Gala, a fashion fundraiser Honouring Our Stolen Sisters.
When you are looking for something unique for your wedding gown, reception dress, or resort fashions for your honeymoon. Going to fashion shows is good for ideas, styles, colors and trends. And in this case, it is supporting a fashion fundraiser for women and girls.
Fashions for Passions Gala was founded by The Vietnamese Woman Association of Toronto (VWAT) Family Services. It was created to raise awareness and funds for local organizations that work towards anti-violence and anti-human trafficking initiatives.
The third annual gala will include a four-course dinner. A live auction, as well as a silent auction. And Canadian singer-actor-writer, Andrea Menard and country singer-songwriter Kaitlin Kozell will be providing entertainment for the evening.
Fashion designers from Fashion Art Toronto (FAT), a non-profit organization dedicated to exploring fashion and arts will show their collections. The 2015 Fashions for Passions designers are Fiona Veronicaf, Garvin Garcia, Tanushree Pande, and Dianna DiNoble.
The gala honoured Ms. Winnie Ng, Ms. Loly Rico and Ms. Susan Langdon with the Icons of Empowerment award. The award is in recognition of their passion and dedication in furthering the status of women and girls.
“We intend to impact more people than ever before,” says designer Thien LE, co-chair of the Gala. “Every year, our level of impact has increased. It encouraged us to push for more, so that we can continue to break the stigma around violence, and the trafficking of women and girls.”
