Bachelorette Celebrations

• Carrie Underwood & Emily Blunt party with girlfriends

• Fun cocktail recipes including one for the X-boyfriend

by Shelley Waugh

Every year, approximately 3 million couples get married in North America with the majority of weddings take place between June and October, making winter and spring the official Bachelorette Season. This adds up to a lot of weddings and it also adds up to a lot of bachelorette parties that are being planned that can involve anything from a night of bonding with the bridal party over photo albums and gifts to a last 'out of town' with the girls.

In June singer Carrie Underwood and a group of girfirends took over a VIP table on the LAVO stage in Las Vegas for a bachelorette party. The singer put on a "Bride-to-Be" sash and the group wore feather boas from LAVO’s bachelorette goody bag while dancing the night away. www.lavola.com

Underwood is engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey star, Canadian Mike Fisher, left, who also celebrated his bachelor party in June but at the Mansion in Miami with about 15 male friends who had a great time including dancing on their table. Evidently, Fisher was the most subdued of the group, sitting back and admiring the madness as he nursed one cocktail through much the night. www.mansionmiami.com

Actress Emily Blunt (Young Victoria) celebrated her bachelorette party at L.A.'s Trousdale Lounge with a group of girlfriends, including actress Amy Adams. The group took over a big table in the back room, sipped cocktails and "danced the night away." The engaged actress and fiancé John Krasinski (The Office) are expected to be married this year.
